Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

So a few months ago I receive a phone call from a good friend of mine who's connected in the business, in particular the festival circuit. After a few minutes of friendly chatter he ask's "Are you free from the 18th to 20th September". I scanned through the pages of my diary and replied "Nothing at this stage why whats up"?  He goes on to explain that he's been offered a gig at the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers playing twice daily over the three days of the festival and wondered if I would be interested in doing the the gig.  So of course I said yes! as it would be a great experience for me as my usual gigs are pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants etc....

Anyway two months on and the time has come, I'm getting ready to pack my gear jump in the car and head north. With my trusty old guitar and my beautiful wife by my side, along with my partner in crime great mate and guitarist Darren Knight were off!!  I must admit when I agreed to do this gig I knew nothing about the Carnival of Flowers festival or Toowoomba for that matter. So I decided to do a quick google search and I was overwhelmed with the enormity of the festival!!! ok I admit it Im a little nervous. I am going to be joining a line up with a host of very well established Australian  artist's.

However, I will not be performing on the main stage it is still very exciting for me as a musician  being on the same bill as Josh Pyke, Meg Mac, The Beautiful Girls, Taxi Ride etc. Even though I will performing on the little stage thats probably the size of a matchbox and stuck way down the back of the festival. I will take to that stage with pride and play my heart out to ensure I enjoy every single one of those 30 minutes I get to stand on it doing what I love to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish me luck peeps and keep posted as I will put up some photos and videos to document my experience real soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
